Finance Manager – Trueline Africa Limited

Job Summary:
The Finance Manager is a management level position reporting to the Management Director. He /She shall oversee financial processes for Trueline Africa in Uganda. This position will lead the finance team and handle all activities related to financial management in Uganda.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Accounting and Reporting
Ensure of the timely and accurate closure of books of accounts, and reporting of financials.
Ensure that all the General Ledger accounting and finance/management reporting is done accurately.
Develop and document accounting and financial policies and procedures to ensure processes are efficient, the risk of fraud and error is minimized, and that accurate and complete financial statements are generated on a timely basis.
Develop checklists to conduct monthly reviews to ensure balances in accounting system are correct and properly supported and comply with the company’s policies and procedures.
Perform monthly bank reconciliations of all bank accounts and periodic counts of Cash Accounts.
Coordinate payroll processing for the organization, ensuring that statutory deductions (PAYE, NSSF, and Local Service Tax) are reported and paid on a timely basis and in accordance with statutory regulations.
Budgeting
Lead the budgeting process: Develop, review, finalize, and oversee budgets that represent and align with organizational objectives.
Support the procurement process to ensure the organization is working with approved vendors and receiving value for money.
Provide technical and financial inputs to support the budgeting process.
Develop and produce reporting protocols to provide weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports that monitor budget to actual activities.
Accounts Payables
Responsible for payment transactions via bank and related procedures incl. controls on expense report.
Ability to drive the improvements on the key performance indicators.
Accounts Receivables
Responsible for new process implementation.
Ability to drive the improvements on the key performance indicators.
Tax
Responsible for timely tax payments and related reporting
Responsible for tax audit.
Maintain accounting records to ensure a proper audit trail and that documents are securely stored in compliance with Ugandan regulations.
Audit
Responsible for internal control audit done by GRC (Governance, Risk & Control). Ensure timely closure of open issues.
Oversee the external audit process, providing detailed working papers to support the auditors, and reviewing the draft audited statements to ensure all details are correct.
Management of the Finance Team
Supervise, train, coach and appraise all accounting staff.
Provide support and maintain a competent and motivated team through constructive feedback, coaching, and mentoring.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree (Specializing in Finance, Accounting) & a Professional Qualification in Finance & Accounting (ACCA, CPA etc.)
At least five years of progressive experience in finance and accounting
Sound accounting knowledge. CPA/ACCA a must.
Experience in finance & accounting ERP systems
Experience in Financial Planning & Analysis would be an advantage.
Good analytical skills & advanced excel knowledge.
Good stakeholder management
Proactive and multitasking capabilities
Good team player and someone willing to learn and extend the levels of performance.
Open and convincing personality, sense of urgency, and orientation to results.
Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
