Job Summary: The Database Administrator will be responsible for writing, developing or modifying business systems/databases to ensure data, queries and reports can be captured, managed and maintained easily and accurately.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Administer, test and implement new or modified systems/
Actively monitor performance and control access permissions and privileges.
Document and monitor operational, security and maintenance procedures and contribute to reviews as appropriate in order that continuity of service provision is maintained.
Ensure data security, storage, archiving, backup recovery procedures are functioning correctly.
Enforce database security measures.
Maintain a register of all critical and sensitive storage backup media showing the times, dates and users who have requested such media from the storage area.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The candidates for the Database Administrator should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in any other related course.
Hold professional qualifications i.e. MCDBA, Microsoft SQL Server Certification, SQL, DBA and Knowledge of any other DBMS like Oracle, MySQL etc.
A minimum of two or more years’ working experience in related field
Good Grades in Mathematics at A ‘Level (Either A, B or C).
Possess good customer awareness and emotional intelligence skills
The ideal candidate should maintain confidentiality, have Self- drive and confidence, be Proactive
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Possess business acumen
Excellent public relation skills
Ability to multi-tasking
Excellent time management skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Good at goal setting and quality control.
She/she should also be computer literate
Possess the ability to coach & mentor
Skilled in change management
Possess emotional intelligence and advocacy skills
