Job Summary: The Database Administrator will be performing all activities related to maintaining a successful database environment including designing, implementing, and maintaining the database system; establishing policies and procedures pertaining to the management, security, maintenance, and use of the database management systems; and training employees in database management and use.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
In charge of planning for new and revised Bank databases including Sybase, Oracle, M-SQL and My-SQL in line with Banks Business requirements and Banks ICT Policies and procedures.
Implement and maintain database security in line with Bank ICT policies and procedure.
Writing database documentation, data standards, procedures and definitions in line with Banks ICT Policies and Procedures.
Responsible for performing database monitoring and implement storage, archiving, replication, backup and recovery procedures for all Bank databases in line with Banks ICT Policies and Procedures..
Performing database system maintenance in line with the Banks ICT policies and procedures
Conduct general technical troubleshooting, database tuning and performance monitoring and offer consultation to development teams.
Providing technical support to database power users and end users

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The applicants for the Centenary Bank Database Administrator career opportunity should hold a Bachelors’ Degree in Information Technology/ Computer Science or any related field
Possession of Database related certifications are an added advantage.
At least three years’ experience in a database management system related field
Database programming and general IT skills/knowledge
Superior customer service skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of internal customers.
Possess the ability to plan, budget, schedule, organize and engage line managers on key IT priorities
Ability to multi task and work to deadlines.
Self-discipline and self-drive.
People management skills
