Job Summary: The Human Resources Coordinator – Staff Development will support the HR department by monitoring and implementing human resources policies and strategy in line with Plan’s country strategic plan, global HR strategy and the national labour laws.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for identifying training needs for various categories of staff, and participating in the design of in-house staff training programs.
Actively coordinating and supporting the implementation of appropriate learning initiatives as per Policies
Develop and oversee the coordination and implementation of annual staff development /training plans including respective evaluations
Coordinate workshops/trainings of all corporate training requirements; follow to ensure learning from workshops/trainings are shared with all staff using an approved approach/ strategy
Responsible for staff learning and professional development programs including designing and delivery of programmes and workshops
Oversee all internship placements and maintain database of organizations who can offer various types of professional development
Organize and coordinate an effective orientation and induction program for staff in line with the HR induction policy
Actively participate in periodical reviews of HR policies and strategies and employee opinion surveys and make recommendations for the better running of the department
Participate in salary reviews and budgeting reviewing job descriptions and person specifications in accordance with changing job requirements
Prepare manpower statistics and any other required HR
Serve as focal person between the HR department and other Plan Uganda offices and proactively manage incoming/outgoing correspondences ensuring response deadlines are met

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
The Plan International Human Resources Coordinator – Staff Development should possess a good Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource management or related field.
Post graduate diploma or masters in Human resource management
Excellent technical knowledge on general HR areas
Working Knowledge of operationalizing HR in a busy NGO environment
Practical experience and knowledge of working in developing country
Excellent written and spoken English skills
Proven skills in the full range of general HR needs including data management, recruitment, pay and employee relations is essential
Skills in supporting strategic planning and human resourcing requirements
Exceptional communication – excellent negotiation and influencing skills in multi-cultural
contexts
Behaves consistently in approach to work and decision-making
Strongly drives performance forward in area of the business for which they are responsible together with the team
Sets a strong learning culture in their part of the organization
Remains calm and positive under pressure and in difficult situations
Aware of impact on others and adjusting own behaviour accordingly
Tolerant of difference – cultural sensitivity in relation to its impact on HR.
