Job Description
The Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) is a limited liability company incorporated in Uganda under the Companies Act. UEDCL owns the 33KV and below voltage electricity distribution network and all the operational assets associated with the business currently leased to Umeme Ltd. The company monitors Umeme Ltd’s investment and distribution of power in Nine Service Territories covering over 74 political Districts, it operates the pole treatment plant at Lugogo, and also executes some rural electrification schemes on behalf of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development. The Company is seeking to recruit qualified, competent and highly motivated Ugandan for the role of Metering Engineer:
Reports to: Principal Technical Services Officer
No. of Position: 01
Supervises: Metering Technician
Duty Station: Kampala

Purpose of the position: Develop and manage regulatory, company policy and processes in relation to metering functions in the company to ensure that there high revenues with minimal Energy Losses.

QUALIFICATIONS
• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Minimum of 3years’ work experience on various types of energy meters, meter testing techniques. Good knowledge of Windows OS is an added advantage
Strong knowledge and skills in metering application software such as SMARTSET, MCUBE etc. is an added advantage.
• MUST Possess a valid National driving permit. Previous experience on Distribution network, strong technical knowledge, skills and leadership capacity
